Temporary Changes to Requesting Interlibrary Loans
Q: Why is this process changing?
A: As of July 1st, 2015, CT libraries will no longer be using reQuest software when requesting interlibrary loans. We are presently searching for a new online catalog.
Q: Will I still be able to get items from other libraries?
A: Yes, but the process will be more time consuming during the summer months and as a new system comes online.
Q: Will I still be able to research the iConn Catalog?
A: Yes, but all requests will have to be processed by the Interlibrary Loan Librarian.
Q: How can I request material from another library?
A: Items can be requested by emailing Valerie at email@example.com, by calling a librarian at (860) 379-7235, or in person at the library.
Q: What information is necessary for me to place a request?
A: Please provide your name, phone number or email, and the title of the book, cd book, movie, or cd you are requesting. Include any additional relevant information, i.e. author, publishing date, format, actor, etc.
Q: How long will these changes be in effect?
A: The goal is to have a new online catalog by September, but this process may take longer.
Museum passes are lent to New Hartford residents for up to three days (Brodie Park is for one day only), and must be returned on the day they are due before the Library opens. The pass may be dropped in the book drop outside the Library. Passes may not be renewed. There is a fine of $10 a day for passes not returned on time. If the pass is lost or stolen, the charge will be the total price of the pass. You may reserve a pass by visiting or calling the Library.
