​In our children’s room you will find a nurturing environment that encourages your child to explore the world in their own way through literature, dramatic play, art, music, movement and nature.  

Come visit us to go on an adventure through a great book, put on a puppet show. be the next great train conductor at the train table, sing and dance your way through storytime. 

Enjoy a wide array of children's programs: from drumming to felting, live animal visits, movies and magic shows, to fairy house building, gardening and tie dying and everything in-between.

Nature Storytime

As the Earth awakens in the spring, so do the insects! Though we often think of insects as pests, many are beneficial and necessary for pollination. As they emerge for the season, they will be seeking shelter and nesting spots. Using items for nature and a few recycling items, we will build bug hotels for our pollinator friends!

May the Force be with you! Join us online for a trivia night that takes place in a galaxy far, far away. Answer questions all about the Star Wars Universe. All ages are welcome and small treats will be awarded.

30th Anniversary Party!

Join us for an afternoon celebration of the Beekley Library! There will be live music, food, face painting and fun for the entire family. All ages are welcome, and we cant wait to celebrate with you!

The event is free, but donations in celebration of the library's 30th anniversary of serving New Hartford at 10 Central Avenue are greatly welcomed.

Stop by the Beekley to create a masterpiece! The Children’s Room tables will be filled with supplies so you can create a treasure to display in your room ... or just explore your imagination. School supplies, along with an array of arts and crafts supplies, will be provided to use while in the library. Feel free to “color outside of the lines.” You can bring your art home or we will display it right here at the library!
